The Trip from Hell pt 7It was incredibly weird, having a fairly civil conversation with Paris. Up until that point I didn't think it possible, but there you have it. Clear as day. No blame hoisted on me for everything wrong in the world, minimal cursing, no doubts expressed about my competence… had I not put him there myself I'd have sworn someone else occupied his bed. The Trip from Hell pt 6I awoke what felt like moments later. I checked a clock, and 'moments later' ended up being six am. Slightly later than I usually wake up when at the manor, but still early enough to beat Paris by a long shot. Early promises of sunlight had begun to creep up over the horizon. I smiled. It wasn't often I actually rose with the sun, adhering to Paris' schedule was beginning to tamper with my internal clock.
I got up, made my bed, and barricaded myself in the bathroom once more. Out of an OCD impulse cultivated in maintaining a professional veneer I showered again. After meticulously grooming and dressing myself I set about preparing for Paris.

The Trip from Hell pt 5As Paris got his drink, I was directed to our room to drop off the bags. Reggie handed me the key and got someone from the bar to lead me. Apparently everyone was familiar with the layout.
I was aching as I climbed the stairs, the knowledge that I could soon drop it all was both a relief and a torture. My shoulders ached and throbbed, but I couldn't yet relieve them. The home stretch always seems the longest.
The fellow showed me the door and I gasped an airy 'thank you, sir'. Not the most professional thing to do, but it was better than falling in a heap on the floor. He gave me a friendly nod and returned to his post at the bar. I hastily

The Trip from Hell pt 4Since I had never been to Bathley before, I did not know what to expect. Somehow, it still managed to not be what I expected. If one were to describe Bathley as a 'small village', they would have to do so with a voice rife with sarcasm. A more accurate description of it would be 'a little dirt road and a handful of buildings hiding out in a field somewhere'.
The first indication of civilization that greeted us was a small stretch of red brick wall and an old farm house. Beyond that were some cedar hedges and some indications of buildings.
"Y'know, I saw a town like this in a movie once." Paris said as we strode 'into town'.
"Did you, sir?

Though I'm not totally unconvinced that thing isn't a demon, in all honesty. Just look at it.

I imagine the context would be either Powley found the dog and is trying to ask if they can keep it, or Percy made it known that he hates dogs and this is Powley's way of trying to change his mind.

Of course he really should have known better than to use a Boston Terrier. I mean, seriously.
